Tata Motors teases new sedan Tigor

The automaker first showcased the Kite concept at the Auto Expo 2016. The sub compact sedan has similar design cues as of Tata's golden boy Tiago. The Tigor - based on the new 'impact' design pattern - will serve as the sedan sibling of Tiago.

NEW DELHI: After months of speculation around whether or not it would happen, Tata Motors have resurrected their Kite 5 concept and named it 'Tata Tigor'. The company is looking at creating a niche segment with every new car, and hence, they are calling the Tigor a 'styleback'.
The automaker first showcased the Kite concept at the Auto Expo 2016. The sub compact sedan has similar design cues as of Tata's golden boy Tiago.
The Tigor - based on the new 'impact' design pattern - will serve as the sedan sibling of Tiago.
The price range of Tigor is expected to begin from Rs 4 lakh.
"After Hexa, we are speeding towards our next market introduction, the Tata Tigor which opens a new category of style and attitude in this segment. The break-free design dynamics of Tata Tigor makes it India's 1st Styleback," Mayank Pareek, president, passenger vehicle business unit, Tata Motors said in a statement.
Though media reports suggest that the vehicle will be launched in the month of March, Tata Motors did not confirm the date of its commercial launch.
